Student Growth Model Winter Session - Lansing
The Michigan Department of Education presents: Educator Evaluation & Student Growth Collaborative Workshop
Districts often have more questions than answers when it comes to accurately measuring student growth & appropriately attributing that growth to educators. This workshop will help districts better understand student growth.
This 6 hour workshop for school administrators, principals, teachers & all others that are involved with district student growth. You are encouraged to bring your team to work collaboratively during this workshop, which will focus on:
  • Guided engagement in the components of Student Learning Objectives
  • Supported team work time sessions to develop local district policies & practices
  • Guidance for use of the MDE SGP Educator Evaluation Calculator Tool for state assessments
  • Student growth framework implementation problem-solving & barrier busting
  • Integration of student growth with feedback cycles
What to Bring
  • 5 or more district SLO samples; across content and grade (and/or Data access to create SLOs)
  • Communication plans (and all products from SLO process and workshop)
  • Identify current barriers to local implementation
  • Invitation to share best practices with others; especially struggles and strategies to overcome
  • District procedures for feedback conferences and cycles
  • Laptops and tablets with access to internet and district data
